Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things.

  • LOVE
  • JOY
  • PEACE
  • PATIENCE
  • KINDNESS
  • GOODNESS
  • FAITHFULNESS
  • GENTLENESS
  • SELF-CONTROL

Although we need the Holy Spirit to help us have these fruit in our lives, it starts with our choice. We need to decide that we are going to walk in love, be patient and kind and so on.

Each fruit is distinct from but similar to the others. Usually, they will overlap and more than one will be evident at the same time.

As we grow and mature as believers, the fruit becomes part of our lifestyle, the way we live.

God wants it to become normal for us to have the fruit of the Spirit manifest every day in our lives.

Ephesians 4:31-32

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behaviour. Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

All of us need to deal with bitterness and anger daily. Getting rid of certain toxic habits and behaviours and allowing God to change us into good people.

Paul tells us that there is faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love – the very first fruit of the Spirit
